“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!”
Ps.115.1
This first verse sets the tone not only for the Psalm, but for everyday life. Steadfast love & faithfulness is how God described Himself to Moses in Exodus 34 (“The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful & gracious, slow to anger, & abounding in steadfast love & faithfulness,”).
He put His steadfast love & faithfulness on display in Jesus. If you invest just 1 minute per day reading from Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John you’ll see what I mean. Wow, I’m so glad He is faithful & steadfast in His love! It truly is Him & not us. To God be the glory!
